Making a lasting impact on grassroots football across Greater London and beyond.
Mission
At GirlKeepers, our mission is to empower girls and women who aspire to excel as goalkeepers.
Our aim is to support development, and training for female goalkeepers.
We offer personalised training sessions which focus on supercharging individual strengths and growing confidence, ensuring our goalkeepers are prepared to tackle any challenge on or off the field. Our mission extends beyond teaching techniques, we focus on creating the mental resilience necessary for excellence in goalkeeping. We guide our players to develop the mental fortitude to view setbacks as opportunities for growth, nurturing a deep love for the game and authentic self-belief.
Vision
We strive to normalise the presence of women in goalkeeping, valuing them as vital players irrespective of appearance, gender, or belief.
GirlKeepers aims to become the leading authority for female goalkeepers, transforming lives and making a lasting impact on grassroots football across Greater London and beyond.
Coach V
“I’m Varsha, known to most as Coach V, an Italian-Mauritian National Goalkeeper Coach. With a decade of experience in the football industry, I now focus on developing, training, and nurturing female goalkeepers through bespoke training sessions.
In 2024 I founded GirlKeepers, a program run in partnership with the London FA. GirlKeepers is dedicated to developing girls and female goalkeepers in and around London. The success of our work is evident in the 100+ girls and female goalkeepers we've trained, in collaboration with well-established and grassroots football clubs.
Our vision and resilience have allowed us to support goalkeepers who have longed for bespoke sessions to refine their skills. Seeing the joy on their faces at the end of a session fills my heart with immense pride. Each time I step on the pitch, receive positive feedback or see players returning, I am reminded of the opportunities we are creating, opportunities I lacked due to my skin colour and limited access.
With GirlKeepers, we aim to break down these barriers, advocating that football belongs to everyone. We don't see ethnicity or background; we see the strength in your hands and the passion in your heart, ready to be unleashed.”
